new met opera transmissions & launch of met hd opera group

Monday 07 October brings the first transmission in the Met Opera 2013-14 season, Eugene Onegin. This is not the only first relating to the Met programme. New for this 2013-14 season, we’re working on providing opportunities for opera lovers in the Farnham area to engage with one another beyond the transmissions.

In order to provide you with a more personalised Met experience, the first ever international Met HD Ambassador, Jacqueline Danson, is working with the Maltings to launch the Met HD Opera Group, allowing audiences the opportunity to attend social events and meet-ups for discussions relating to some of the operas performed.

Prior to the screening on Monday, Jacqueline and the Maltings staff will be on hand in our foyer from 5pm to welcome the audience and answer questions about the Met programme.

There will also be the chance to receive a discounted tea or coffee when you sign up to receive details regarding the Met HD Opera Group.

As well as being available to answer questions in the foyer before the screening, and during intervals, Jacqueline will also give a five minute talk prior to the performance.

We hope these kinds of events will help us to learn more about you, the Met HD audience, and what you would enjoy by way of such community events in future.

If you have an idea or suggestion for the Met HD Opera Group, we would love to hear from you. Contact Jacqueline on jdansonHD@metopera.org

We look forward to seeing you in person at the Met HD broadcasts… and events!
